    Alexandra DuPont's Freeform
Alexandra had a historic habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time – a habit that stemmed all the way back to the young girl’s birth. Martha and Thomas DuPont were good people and earnest hard workers, it was true – but they were young, and unprepared for the premature arrival of their ‘unexpected blessing’. Alexandra was born in a dingy working-class apartment in one of Boston’s seedier neighborhoods after nine months of her parents wondering whether they were capable of caring for this happy accident that had suddenly materialized from their youthful love. Alexandra’s parents adored her with every fiber of their being, but there was no denying that her arrival had been ill timed; the star-crossed pair had been struggling to sustain themselves on their high school degrees and working-class wages as it was, and the arrival of a needy child placed a financial burden upon the newly minted family that was nearly too much to bear.

The result was hardly a tragedy – Alex grew up in an untroubled home, and her parents did everything they possibly could to provide for their blue-eyed treasure. Still, love could only go so far. Lentils, white bread and tough cuts of meat were good for sustenance, but not pleasure. Threadbare clothes and half-destroyed textbooks were valuable for the sake of survival, but represented an ever-present scarlet letter marking the young girl’s poverty. From a young age, Alex was determined to discern some means to the end of her and her family’s true happiness – something beyond the meager existence that rendered her without warm water and her parents with worn-down bodies and spirits from hours of hard labor at the city’s docks.

Alexandra found that refuge in a sheer tenacity that transcended the drives of her classmates and peers. Though she was never the smartest and rarely the wisest and certainly not the strongest or quickest person in her school, Alex made up for her personal and financial deficiencies with a sheer will to power. By the time the girl had made it to high school, she had learned to hone her book smarts and street smarts to the necessary points to survive and thrive both in school and on the streets of her rough hometown. It was in that environment that she became known as the Maven of Mattapan by her teachers and supervisors alike – destined for grander things than could be afforded to her by the pittances that her hometown had to offer.

Perhaps most notable within the many facets of young Alexandra’s reputation was her penchant for being a stickler for the rules. This was no accident – Alex was of the opinion that order gave way to truth, and that a forceful pursuit of truth could solve most of the world’s ailments. This caused Alex to have something of a sour reputation amongst her same-age peers, however; they saw her as almost eerily driven, and associated her with the same sorts of risks that Icarus incurred when he strove to touch the sky. Still, there was little doubt that the woman was going places. At age 18, she was offered a generous scholarship to a local university that held an incredible reputation for producing lawyers both at home and abroad. With the blessing of her beleaguered, but proud parents, the Maven of Mattapan caught a bus to Cambridge with the full intention of becoming a shining star upon this newer, more prestigious stage.

Alex’s dogged pursuit of truth carried her to new heights in this strange environment. The blonde-haired girl gained rapid fame upon her school’s campus for both her work ethic and her complete disinterest in social interaction – even when she struggled (and she certainly struggled on many occasions) she refused to reach out and seek help from others. Alex believed her Truth had to be earned, not borrowed or given as charity.

It seemed to work out for her; at the end of her first year, the nineteen-year-old Alex was offered a new, prestigious chance – spend a year in Japan studying international relations, all on the university’s dime. She jumped at the chance to seek her Truth beyond the confines of the greater Boston area. It was there that she found herself wandering through Yoyogi Park one fated afternoon, and there that her adventure through the Digital World began.

    Personality
Alexandra is of medium height and supremely slender build. Her stark blonde hair and piercing sky-blue eyes are immediately noticeable amidst most crowds (and even more so in Japan). The woman’s physique is slender, but strong – thin, corded muscles giving her the appearance of a tumbler or a dancer. Still, even at 19 the woman seems trapped in the throes of late pubescence – her limbs are long and a tad gangly, and her curves are lacking to say the least. The woman’s poor nutrition as a child stunted her growth ever so slightly, but a quick glance hardly suggests emaciation.

Put simply, the woman appears hungry – both in fact and in demeanor. Every motion carries a purpose behind it, and every glance seeks to pierce, dissect and interpret for her own gain. There is little in the way of joy or frivolity to be found here – by all accounts, Alex tends to take herself far too seriously. Still, every so often the façade seems to crack, revealing a degree of vulnerability lurking somewhere beneath the surface of the all-business woman’s neutral expressions.
